There's been a whopping great global recession, in case you hadn't noticed. The market for top-end cars had frozen at the exact time that P1 most desperately needed the dosh.Eventually the banks called the loans in, as they had identified the supercar market as wobbly business they didn't want during a banking crisis.

The Murcielago range of Lamborghinis is coming to the end of their shelf life and we have in store the replacement – The Lamborghini Jota - which will be with us in the next year or so. So it’s not a big surprise that Lamborghini have been out testing the new Jota in the Arctic Circle. As we can see from the spy shots, the Jota is going to be similar in size to the Murcielago (which is far too wide for comfort around town) but thanks to a new aluminium space frame will be an awful lot lighter than the Murcielago.
If ordering a Saleen S302 Ford Mustang is on your wish list, the time to do it is now. Revstone Industries, owner of Saleen Performance Vehicles, said on Wednesday that it will stop taking orders for the car in May and will finish building Saleen Mustangs in suburban Detroit by the fall. But the Lexington, Ky.-based company is not getting out of the performance parts and merchandise businesses and isn't abandoning the vehicle-upfitting field, spokesman Pete Borum said.
